Who can fundraise?
Anyone in SA who has a few hours a week to spare.
Benefits
Raise the most and win a brand new Jimny 5 door 1.5 GL MT valued at R429,000.
If you don’t raise the most, you still stand the chance to win the second prize, a Suzuki Swift 1.2 GL+ MT, valued at R239,000 for every R1,000 you raise (1 entry into the draw per R1,000 raised).
There are only 300 people, so your chances of winning are really really good if you are motivated.
You can trade it in for cash and use it for college, a gap year, a holiday or something else you really want.
You can trade it in for an upgrade or as a deposit, for another vehicle you want
The campaign will only begin once 300 fundraisers are on board.
Requirements
- Be able to confidently raise a minimum of R2000 per month for 6 months
- Be committed and motivated & know that you have enough people you can network with who will support what you are doing
- If after the 6 months you have not been able to raise the minimum of R12,000 you will not be entered into the second prize draw

Terms and Conditions
By entering this competition, all entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions of entry.
- This Competition is open to anyone (if you are under 18 years and are the winner, someone over the age of 18 must claim the prize on your behalf), except for SAFE Governance Board Members, and employees of CMH Suzuki Ballito.
- The Competition is open to all South African residents.
- The prize is exclusive of once-off licencing and registration fees. The winner will be responsible for any such fees.
- The winner will be responsible for insuring the vehicle at their own expense.
- SAFE will not be held liable for any additional expenses incurred.
- The competition will only start to run when the 300 contestants have been selected and their BackaBuddy campaigns have been set up.
- Should 300 contestants not register by the end of June 2025, we reserve the right to cancel this competition.
- The winners will need to travel, at their own expense, to CMH Suzuki Ballito to receive their prize.
- The official start and end dates will be announced to all contestants and posted on this page.
- Prize collection will happen 2 weeks after the end of the competition.
- Two prizes will be awarded. The first prize will be awarded to the person who over the 6-month period of the competition raises the most money in their BackaBuddy account. The second prize will be a random draw of all other entrants. Each R1,000 raised will equal one entry into this draw.
- The draw will be done by a representative of SAFE’s Auditors.
- Only money raised through each contestant’s BackaBuddy account will be counted towards first prize calculation and the second prize random draw entries. No other forms of money raised will count towards this competition.
- No contestant may use this competition, or SAFE’s name to raise funds outside of the official BackaBuddy page set up by SAFE. No funds may be deposited into private bank accounts, no off-site promotion of this competition may be entered into.
- Each R1,000 raised over the 6-month period equals one entry into the draw.
- All entrants will be notified of the outcome of each prize draw through the SAFE social media channels and website.
- Prizes will be donated back to SAFE if they are not claimed within 12 months of the winner being notified.
- Car models and values may change due to supplier model changes and availability.
- In the event of a dispute the decision of the auditing firm will be final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the result.
- Participation in the competition and acceptance of any prize (if you are the winner) is subject to acceptance of the terms & conditions set out.
- By entering the competition, the entrant gives SAFE the right to publish the prize winner’s name and photograph in any advertising, promotional material or event, or print, at any point of sale or in any public relations material. The nature and manner of such releases are to be determined within the sole discretion of SAFE, and shall be for a period of 12 months after the date that the prize winner is determined, after having being publicly announced as the prize winner of the competition. The prize winner expressly consents to the foregoing rights of SAFE.
